STATEMENT OF FAITH

Creation

We believe that God is the Maker of heaven and earth! The original creation (Genesis 1:1) is dateless. Therefore, we cannot know the age of the universe or the age of the invisible world. The present form of our earth, inhabited by humans, was fashioned when God performed His creative work in six days as narrated in Genesis 1 and 2.

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, completely authoritative and solely infallible. When rightly divided and properly interpreted, it provides sufficient revelation for the church to be complete in doctrine, ministry, and worship.

Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, namely the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension back to the Father’s right hand to make intercession for believers, and in His Second Coming to reign in power and glory.

Man

We believe that each person is made in the image of God and therefore is to be treated with respect and honor. Yet, this image has been marred through the Fall of Adam, plunging man into a state of total depravity. Total depravity does not mean a person is as evil as he or she can be. However, it means that every part of the human composition is corrupted by sin making self-salvation a total impossibility.

Holiness

True believers will pursue holiness and persevere in faith. This continuance in godliness and truth is evidence of the keeping power of God, for God promises to continue and perfect the good work He begins in a redeemed person’s life.

We believe in Sanctification to be a distinct quality of life in Christ that commences at the new birth, develops through a growing process, and consummates at the appearing of Christ when all believers will be glorified.

We believe in holiness as God’s standard of living for His people. Holiness is defined by the example of Christ, the teachings of the New Testament, and the moral attributes of God.

Salvation

We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Therefore, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary for the salvation of lost man; this miracle is wrought through simple faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

We believe that salvation is a complete work of God’s free grace, from commencement to consummation, with no contribution from the believer for which he or she can take credit.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling every believer is enabled to live a victorious life and demonstrate Christ-like maturity.
We believe in the Spirit-filled life that is experienced through a life of thirsty prayer, released through active ministry, and maintained through continual obedience to the Word of God.
We believe that each member of the body of Christ is a steward of at least one gift of the Spirit; as such, each believer has the opportunity and responsibility to discover, develop, and deploy that gift for the edification of Christ’s body.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers; each Christian, regardless of local congregational affiliation, is a member of the body of Christ and is worthy to be called a “brother” or “sister” in Christ.

We believe that the invisible church finds expression in the local church with ministerial offices, sacred liturgy, dedicated facilitates, organizational structure, biblical teaching, corporate worship, intercessory prayer, familial fellowship, body-building, encouragement, gift discovery, benevolent activities, and evangelistic programs. Church membership is a crucial step toward Christian maturity.

Sacraments

We believe that Holy Communion and Water Baptism are the two precious sacraments given by Christ to His church. Water Baptism, administered by immersion in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is for individuals who have come to the conscious decision of faith in Christ. Holy Communion, served through the elements of wine and bread, is a sacred supper whereby believers partake of the presence of Christ in a unique fashion.

Healing

We believe that God provides divine healing for His suffering people in answer to believing prayer; healing may manifest itself in an instant, progressive, or ultimate manner and may be imparted directly or through human instrumentality.

Future

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved will experience resurrection unto eternal life and glory; the lost will experience resurrection unto eternal death and damnation.

We believe in the physical and literal Second Coming of Jesus Christ to this earth. There are two phases of this Second Advent: the Rapture and the Revelation! The Rapture involves Christ coming to translate His church to heaven! The Rapture takes place prior to the seven-year Tribulation Period. The Revelation involves Christ coming with His church to crush the kingdom of Satan and establish the messianic, millennial kingdom. Following the Millennium, the Great White Throne Judgment will pronounce eternal punishment on the wicked and prepare the world for a renewed heaven and earth in which dwells righteousness.
