DESCRIPTION

Each Christmas, Calvary Gospel Church's Angel Tree Ministry, led by our Prison Ministry, brings hope and joy to families with loved ones in prison. By providing gifts on behalf of incarcerated parents, we share the love of Christ and remind children that they are valued and loved. Volunteers hand-deliver gifts, share the Gospel, and include personal messages from parents behind bars.

Beyond Christmas, the Angel Tree Ministry fosters year-round connections, integrating families into church activities and creating a supportive community that glorifies God through encouragement and growth.

PROCESS

  • Gift Selection:
    • After the church service, members choose angels from the tree and sign up to purchase the listed gifts.

  • Gift Return:
    • Unwrapped gifts are returned to the church within two weeks (by December 15).

  • Gift Delivery:
    • Minister Rashida Betts, Deacon Betts, and volunteers package the gifts.
    • The team hand-delivers the gifts to each child’s home, along with treats and church literature.
    • During visits, they pray, minister to the families, and invite them to participate in church activities.
